Haunted by her best friend's disappearance, always practical Rowan Quaide lives a life of cold logic. As an intelligence analyst, her world is ruled by who has the best strategy and Ro's reasoned control makes her Queen.
A Chance encounter with a man from her past stretches the bounds of reason and throws her into a game of dark deception and danger. With the past creeping from her nightmares into her reality, Ro pits herself against the monster determined to destroy the new love she's found.
As the intel gets more and more disturbing and events begin to spin out of control, she must rely on her instincts and cling to an unreasonable truth, or allow logic to tear her apart.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and had some complex, gritty topics without being too dark. The characters were likeable without being one-dimensional and the story moved at a good pace.
Randa did such an amazing job with her descriptions and character development I truly felt that I was a "fly on the wall" experiencing EVERYTHING right along with the characters. The romance between Rowan (side not, LOVE the name) and Harrison was intense but did not seem forced or rushed; even though it developed fast it felt natural (heck, I wanted to date Harrison).
This book is fast paced, and you won't want to put it down. I slept a total of four hours and hated that I had things to do today! You will love the characters, particularly because they are not perfect, but human. I cannot recommend this book enough, but fair warning, give yourself the time
